Hi, Iām david prince.
I am a psychologist and psychotherapist in Center City, Philadelphia. I work individually with adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and issues around self-esteem and relationships. I believe that people want and need to be understood by themselves and by other people. Without this, life and relationships can feel hollow and lonely. At the most difficult times, problems with others, depression and anxiety, unmet goals, and the critical ways you feel about yourself can be too much to bear and feel too hard to change. But change comes with the development of a therapy relationship fostered by careful listening, trust, curiosity, honesty, and taking chances.
I have seen clients come to a better understanding of their pain and fears, allowing them to face life with more courage, honesty, and resilience. I feel thrilled to see them grow to treat themselves and others more compassionately, communicate better, and come to terms with the past and present.
I often work longer-term with those who have not met their goals in briefer models. I see therapy as a collaborative process that is shared and valued by both of us.
